New members in our Switching regulator line-up

ROHM features a brought line-up of switch mode regulators. The below diagram shows an excerpt of the Build-in FET Series. Of course controller type devices for external MOSFETs are available as well. ROHM offers devices for applications like PC power supply (Vin=20V, Iout = 6A), automotive (Vin=50V, Iout=2A and 4A), digital video cameras (6 to 8 separate channels) and Flat Panel TVs (Vin=2.7V to 5.5V, Iout=3A or controller types). All devices can be universally used in many other applications.

BU9437KN:  New MP3 + WMA Music decoder
with USB and SD-card Memory interfaces

By adding the Windows Media Audio (WMA) music decode function to its existing line-up of single chip MP3 audio decoders, ROHM now strengthens customers competitiveness in even more applications and regions globally. Besides the very popular MP3 audio playback, Windows Media audio content becomes more and more popular and end customers are keen to have the WMA playback function included in their audio sets.

High performance power diodes:
Power Schottky and Power Fast Recovery

ROHM offers a wide range of high-performance power Schottky barrier and fast recovery diodes for automotive, industrial and consumer applications and secondary current rectification on any switching power supply. The Fast Recovery Diodes offer ultra-high speed switching and 50% less switching loss compared to earlier units. All ROHM power diodes offer low or ultra-low VF. These are HIGH performance HIGH power diodes.

BD8118FM: High efficiency Power LEDdriver for LCD Backlighting

The automotive grade BD8118FM is designed for medium sized LCD back lighting applications. It integrates four precisely matched current sources to drive four LED chains with up to 150mA each. LED luminance can be controlled by PWM (0.38%-100%) or VDAC. The output voltage of the integrated boost converter is regulated to minimize voltage drop of the current sources. It can be controlled by an enable switch and features a Soft Start mode to eliminate overshoot. The switching frequency is adjustable by synchronization or ext. RC.

Ultra-compact LEDs Twice As Bright at 1mA: PicoLED™-eco

ROHM has developed the PicoLED™-eco(picoled-eco) (SML-P11 series) ultra-compact LEDs in response to the demand for higher brightness with lower power consumption.

Rohm has developed a complete family of full bridge drivers for brush motor applications.

The drivers can operate at a wide range of power supply voltages - from 3V to 36V- supporting a maximum output current up to 2A. Using MOS transistors in the output stage enables PWM signal input.
These H-bridge drivers enable low power consumption design.

The Industry’s First SPI-compatible 125°C Double Cell EEPROMs for Automotive Applications

Rohm has developed the industry's first SPI compatible BR25Hxx0 EEPROMs (non-volatile memory) for applications exposed to harsh environmental conditions such as automotive ECUs, where damage is a possibility due to surges and static electricity during startup and vibration and heat during operation.

ROHM  has developed the BU16008V, a high performance three-input switch IC for digital TVs and multimedia monitors compatible with the newest HDMI standard, ver. 1.3a. Features include a built-in DDC buffer for ID signal display, an equalizer, a multiplexer, and a high-speed differential driver for highly reliable digital transmission during digital audio/video signal switching between digital source equipment and a digital TV or multimedia monitor.

Real-time Video Processor IC for Car Navigation / Car Entertainment System
 
ROHM has developed the BU1573KV, a video processor IC that corrects video images in real time for improved readability, even under less than ideal ambient conditions. Optimized for LCD display units in car navigation and entertainment systems, the core consists of an AIE (Adaptive Image Enhancer) originally developed for surveillance cameras.

Voice Synthesis: Hi-Fi Voice Synthesis ICs
 

ROHM's voice synthesis ICs utilize an original compression method and a 16bit DAC core, resulting in 4 times longer playback (compared with conventional systems) and CD-quality sound (via hardware processing). In addition, maximum 4-channel simultaneous playback with auto fade-in/-out is possible without placing a burden on the CPU, ensuring realistic scene reproduction.

The Industry’s First High CRI white Led in PLCC2 package

ROHM has developed white LEDs in two types of high-intensity and high CRI feature in the PLCC2 package.
Due to the use of red/green phosphor Rohm white leds generate a CRI of 92 which allows excellent color rendition for white backlighting and illumination purpose. In addition color variations from cold white to warm white are available upon request.

Following parts are available:

SMLZ13WBDRW - red/green phosphor with typ.880mcd at 20mA and a CRI of 92!
SMLZ13WBDPW - yellow phosphor with typ. 1100mcd at 20mA.
