Quality

"Quality First" is the foundation of everything that ROHM practices.

Quality is no longer limited to the performance of finished products, but includes cost, delivery, service and environment as well. ROHM believes that quality represents the customer's level of satisfaction in all these areas.

ROHM's drive for quality and strength is described as huMan, Machine, Material and Method. As a group, we work together to maintain the highest standards in all of these aspects.

Safety is also part of ROHM's manufacturing philosophy. Safety is upheld by ROHM and the ROHM Group all over the world as a corporate objective and is well supported by corporate management. Not only does our Corporate Quality Assurance Division adhere to the policy of placing quality first, it is also a company-wide practice. Significant attention is paid to every manufacturing process, from the development of new products and new manufacturing systems to the purchase of raw materials.

Our Approch To Quality

1965. Began to implement quality control methods across the whole company

1966. Established the Company Standardization Committee

1985. Implemented TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
 
1990. Received the QLP Award from AT&T America and the Q1 Award from Ford USA for our chip resistors (both are awarded to manufacturers with particularly outstanding quality, cost, delivery and service).
 
1994. Acquired ISO9000, including all affiliated companies.
 
1996. Acquired QS9000, including all relevant affiliated companies. Beginning of the RPS (ROHM Production System) campaign
 
1997. Implemented quality improvements across the whole company.
 
1998. Completed acquisition of ISO14001 for all affiliated companies in Japan.
 
1998. Implemented FRQ campaign (Future of ROHM Built up on Quality).
 
2002. Implemented "Quality in a Different League"
